Middle Caicos
The Largest Island and Least Populated
From the incredible Conch Bar Caves to the stunning Mudjin Harbour which is probably the most beautiful bay in the world, words can hardly describe the feeling you get when you see the stunning beaches in Middle Caicos. It is like a step back in time when you visit this lush green island.
The largest island in the Turks and Caicos chain, Middle Caicos has an area of 48 square miles. However, Middle Caicos is also the least populated island with less than 600 residents. It is a very lush island suitable for agriculture. The three communities on Middle Caicos are Conch Bar, Lorimers, and Bambarra.
Middle Caicos is known for bonefishing flats in the calm backwaters between the islands. The shallow waters of Bambarra Beach also allows for sailing model sailboats, hand carved by local artisans and proves as a great snorkeling and eco adventure location.
Middle Caicos houses the largest above ground caves in all of the Bahamas and the Turks & Caicos Islands which were formed by an erosion of limestone. If you are into caves and want to see where local Indians took shelter when storms hit, don’t miss a tour of these amazing caves!
