Easily one of the most attractive Carribean destinations, located in the West Indies, are the islands of Turks and Caicos. With so much to offer and explore, we at Keller Williams Turks and Caicos have collected some of the top attractions to help you get to know these alluring islands more:

1. The Beaches in Turks and Caicos

The beaches in Turks and Caicos are considered some of the most beautiful in the world. From the white sands, to the clear ocean views, these sandy shores are one that you don’t want to miss. In fact, Grace Bay is regularly voted the world’s best beach in the Travellers’ Choice Awards. Connected to beaches on the east and west, the entire beach area spans over 7 miles!

2. Scuba Diving the Reef

One of the most popular ocean activities in Turks and Caicos is scuba diving. Suitable for all levels, there are resources and lessons available so even beginners can enjoy this island activity. Dive companies on the island offer everything from introductory basics, to advanced courses for more experienced divers. For those looking for a bit more of a thrill, there are outstanding dive sites bordered by massive rock faces for you to explore as well.

3. The weekly Fish Fry

Held every Thursday on the island of Providenciales, the most popular of all the sister islands, islanders and visitors alike come together for an evening of food, entertainment, and fun. Hosted by the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board, over a dozen restaurants, souvenir vendors, and cultural performances (including a live band!) come together to create this magical, family friendly evening, celebrating and highlighting perfectly all things Turks and Caicos.

4. Whale Watching

Whale watching in Turks and Caicos can be a truly memorable experience. While the islands are more famous for their pristine beaches and turquoise waters, they also offer opportunities to witness the majestic humpback whales as they migrate through the area.

The best time for whale watching in Turks and Caicos is generally from late January to early April, during the humpback whale migration season. During this time, the whales pass through the waters surrounding the islands on their journey to and from their breeding grounds in the Caribbean.

Several tour operators in Turks and Caicos offer whale watching excursions, typically departing from Providenciales or Grand Turk. These tours often provide knowledgeable guides who can offer insights into the behavior of the whales and the marine ecosystem of the area.

5. Fine Dining with Incredible Views

Surrounded by pristine turquoise waters, the islands of Turks and Caicos produce exquisite cuisine taken from, and inspired by, the ocean. Serving up the freshest seafood and produce, many restaurants offer open air dining experiences – allowing you to continue to enjoy the weather and views along with your flavour packed cuisine. 6. The Conch Bar Caves

Not only are the Conch Bar Caves the oldest and largest underground caves anywhere in the Carribean – they are also the only cave in the Turks and Caicos open to tourism or visitors. Naturally occurring in Middle Caicos, guests can walk through a system of lagoons, stalagmites, and stalactites as they experience a taste of Turks and Caicos history.

7. Boat Tours Galore!

With a system of over 40 islands in total (8 of which are inhabited), there are a plethora of boat operators to assist with any kind of tour you can think of. From fishing, to island hopping, to snorkeling, there are options suited to whatever kind of adventure – or leisure – that may strike your interest. Join in on a regularly scheduled excursion, or even book a private boat charter for your own individual adventure.

8. Even More to Explore in Turks and Caicos

Beyond all the activities offered on the beaches and in the ocean, the islands of Turks and Caicos are filled with even more beautiful activities and landmarks to discover away from the water. The islands are filled with historic plantations, where those curious can learn about the rich cultural heritage of the islands. If you’d like to tour the landmarks a bit faster, you can rent a scooter, electric bike, or bicycle to tour through Turks and Caicos at your leisure.

With so much to experience throughout the many islands of Turks and Caicos, this is definitely a destination worth investing your time in.
